Union State budget may be increased by 20%

Union State budget for 2009 may be increased by 20% in case of ratification of union property regulation agreement by Belarusian side. That was reported by the chairman of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly Commission on budget and finances, deputy of the Russian State Duma Dmitri Sablin following the results of the zero reading of budget.

He pointed out that the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus will consider the issue of agreement ratification on October, 4th during the autumn session.

The Russian side already ratified the document in July, 2007. The remains from the union budget of 2007 at a rate of 521 million of Russian roubles in case of ratification will become the property of Union State and will pass in a profitable part of the budget for 2009. Besides, taking into account the remains of 2008 – the prospective sum of 200 million of Russian roubles – the budget-2009 can make up about 5, 5 billion roubles. So far in the basic financial document of Union State the figure registered is 4, 87 billion roubles (the budget of 2008 makes up 4, 06 billion roubles). «Clauses, concerning the financing of the programs in the sphere of defence, security and military-technical cooperation are the most capacious in the union budget project for 2009», –D.Sablin added.

Meanwhile he pointed out that «it is important to build Union State effectively». «Considering today's geopolitical situation in the world, Russia and Belarus will be strong only together », – the parliamentarian believes.
