State Duma Is to Ratify Agreement between Russia and Belarus

The committee on CIS affairs and relations with compatriots under State Duma of the Russian Federation is going to ratify an Agreement between Russia and Belarus that will guarantee equal rights to the citizens of both republics, freedom of movement as well as an alternative place of stay and residence on the territories of Union State member states.

The committee on CIS affairs and relations with compatriots under State Duma of the Russian Federation is going to ratify an Agreement between Russia and Belarus that will guarantee equal rights to the citizens of both republics, freedom of movement as well as an alternative place of stay and residence on the territories of Union State member states.

The corresponding bill was introduced before the State Duma.

The agreement signed by the Presidents of Russia and Belarus presupposes unrestricted entry and exit as well as stay of Belarusian citizens on the territory of Russia and visa versa without a migratory card. Besides that, the citizens of the contracting parties are exempted from registration at the place of stay for the first 30 days starting from an entry date.

According to the Agreement, person’s citizenship of one of the contracting parties serves as a reason to apply for a residence permit with no account taken of sojourn period as well as to obtain a permit for a part-time residence on the other country’s territory.
