Union State

Union formation is a brilliant example to follow in order to restore the whole of post-Soviet area

Such an opinion was expressed by Pavel Borodin, State Secretary of the Union State, at the meeting with journalists. “Whatever someone says, only confederal system is at issue,” he stressed. “The principles of the EU are to be followed. The EU is a unique event: everyone speaks a different language, but they do sit down to talks and come to an agreement”. Under his words, the Presidents of Belarus and Russia have also proved that the parties can reach an agreement and create jobs for people, which is, according to the State Secretary, the key component of any state formation.

Such an opinion was expressed by Pavel Borodin, State Secretary of the Union State, at the meeting with journalists. “Whatever someone says, only confederal system is at issue,” he stressed. “The principles of the EU are to be followed. Under his words, the Presidents of Belarus and Russia have also proved that the parties can reach an agreement and create jobs for people, which is, according to the State Secretary, the key component of any state formation.

P.Borodin noted that production programmes make up 75% of the Union budget. Besides that, the idea of a transport corridor London – Berlin – Warsaw – Minsk – Moscow – Vladivostok have been advertised a lot recently. “Transport corridor means boatbuilding, shipbuilding, aircraft building, in other words – 1.5-2 million jobs in Belarus, 17-20million jobs in Russia, 7-8 million jobs in the EU and 15-20 million jobs in the Far East,” believes the State Secretary. In his opinion, bilateral meetings of Presidents A.Lukashenko and V.Putin in December 2007, Supreme Council of the Union State and Union cabinet councils proved one more time that it is the economy that runs the show. P.Borodin noted that both in Belarus and in Russia 28 thousand enterprises work and 10 million people are employed thanks to interregional programmes.

“I think that thanks to the transport corridor our budget will increase not 10 but 1000 times and will make up not 4 billion rubles but 40 billion and not rubles but dollars. So, these are very important issues,” stressed P.Borodin.
