“Mass Media in Belarus” exhibition in Minsk

On May, 5 the 13th international specialized exhibition “Mass Media in Belarus” has been opened in National exhibition centre “BelExpo”. This year the exhibition is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory over the Nazi invaders and to the Year of native land.

On May, 5 the 13th international specialized exhibition “Mass Media in Belarus” has been opened in National exhibition centre “BelExpo”. This year the exhibition is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory over the Nazi invaders and to the Year of native land.

At the solemn ceremony of the exhibition opening there was a greeting from President of Belarus A.Lukashenko to exhibition participants read by the First deputy Head of President’s Administration N.Petkevich. A.Lukashenko pointed out that the participants are to discuss topical problems of mass media development in the condition of global economic crisis. “New challenges of time put forward the necessity to inform people accurately and efficiently about the changes in the economic situation and the measurs taken to overcome the difficulties. The task is to implement constructive information policy aimed at consolidation of the society and power unity in order to solve the problems efficiently”, - the greeting says. According to the Head of the State in the year of the 65th anniversary of victory over the Nazi invaders the most important task of Mass Media is to show people the crucial sense of this date and the historical truth about the heroism of people.

Besides deputy State secretary of Union State S.Shukhno took place in the opening ceremony. We remind that according to the tradition there is a stand of Union State Mass Media at the exhibition. There has already been the presentation of this stand. The stand will be working during the entire exhibition that will end its work on May, 8.

This year exhibitors from 11 countries are participating in the “Mass Media in Belarus” exhibition: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Poland, Switzerland, Great Britain, France, China and Israel. Broad exposition has been presented by Russian regions: the representatives of mass media from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod and Bryansk oblasts came to Minsk.
