A.Lukashenko met with gifted students

At the present stage of development Belarus count on knowledge, talent and intellect, said the Head of the state Alexander Lukasheno at the meeting with gifted students, special presidential fund laureates.

72 winners of international subject competition, creative contests and festivals and laureates for special presidential fund on support of the gifted children and talented youth as well as 9 teachers were invited for the event that has already became traditional.

“Emphasis on knowledge, talent and intellect is the basis of present strategy of social and economic development of Belarus. The search for young talents and their education is the most important task of the state”, - pointed out President and added that active, hard-working and gifted people are the main wealth of our state.

During 12 years of special presidential fund work more than 18 thousand schoolchildren, students, art workers and teachers have been awarded with prizes and scholarship and quite a lot of creative and scientific projects have been implemented.

In Belarus a lot is being made for revelation and education of young talents: lyceums and gymnasium are being built; numerous schools of arts, hobby and amateur groups and studios are being opened. State program “Young talents of Belarus” is successfully being implemented.

According to President subject competitions and tournaments, festivals and contests of children and youth’s creative work have become really mass and popular. Thus in current academic year more than 600 thousand schoolchildren took place in republic competition.

Significant is the success of young Belarusians in various international contests and subject competitions. Last year all 28 Belarusian participants became the prizewinners of international subject competitions, prestigious tournaments. Young actors were an immediate success in Michael Glinka international vocalist contest and the youngest won at children’s song contest “Eurovision”. “These impressive records prove high efficiency of Belarusian system of work with gifted youth”, - pointed out the Head of the state.

Alexander Lukashenko presented young talents with certificates and badges of special Presidential fund laureates.

The Head of the State thanked also teachers for their enthusiasm and devotion to job and made young talents pay attention that their high results reflect great credit on their teachers and parents.
