Meeting of Interbank currency council of Belarusian and Russian central banks took place

The 28th regular meeting of interbank currency council of central banks of Belarus and Russia took place on June, 20, 2008 in Mogilev city. It involved the participation of Piotr Prokopovich, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and Sergei Ignatyev, the Chairman of Bank of Russia, and other representatives of the central banks of the both states.

The 28^th regular meeting of interbank currency council of central banks of Belarus and Russia took place on June, 20, 2008 in Mogilev city. It involved the participation of Piotr Prokopovich, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and Sergei Ignatyev, the Chairman of Bank of Russia, and other representatives of the central banks of the both states.

The participants analyzed the economic situation and the process of monetary and credit policy guidelines implementation in Belarus and Russia in 2007 and the process of this policy realization in the current year including the exchange rate policy. The results of the work of the both bank systems in 2007, the list of their complementary indices to their financial sustainability, methods of calculation and monitoring mechanism were examined.

Bilateral balance of payments and consolidated balance of payments of Belarus and Russia for 2007, retail system of payments including the use of debit cards, the possibility of their integration on the base of unified regulations and standards as well as deposit insurance system development in Belarus and Russia, international reserve dynamics and foreign currency liquidity of the central banks of the both states on the base of definitions used within the scopes of IMF Special Data Dissemination Standard and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
