Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus S.Martynov Paid a Visit to the Republic of Turkey

As is reported by the press service of Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 16th December, 2008 within the working visit the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus met with the representatives of the Turkish government.

As is reported by the press service of Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 16th December, 2008 within the working visit the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus met with the representatives of the Turkish government.

In particular, Sergey Martynov held talks with the President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah G?l; State Minister of Foreign Trade Kyurshad Tyuzmen; State Minister for Religious Matters, International Technical and Cultural Cooperation Mustafa Sait Yaz?c?o?lu; Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali Babajan; Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertu?rul G?nay as well as leaders of Inter-Parliamentary friendship group “Belarus-Turkey” at the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.

In the course of the talks the participants exchanged their views on future prospects of bilateral relations as well as expansion of cooperation between Belarus and Turkey in multilateral format. At these meetings special attention was given to the means of developing bilateral cooperation in investment sphere.

Besides that, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and State Minister of Foreign Trade Kyurshad Tyuzmen signed the Action Plan for the years 2008-2010 aimed at extending relations in the area of foreign trade, investment and contract services.

Moreover, Sergey Martynov in the capacity of a co-chairman took part in the Sixth Meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Belarusian-Turkish Economic Commission. At the end of this sitting the participants signed a final Protocol, which is a “roadmap” for developing Belarusian-Turkish relations in trade and economic sphere for the next two years.
