59 delegates from all regions of Belarus as well as representatives of the same public association from Ukraine gathered for the meeting.

59 delegates from all regions of Belarus as well as representatives of the same public association from Ukraine gathered for the meeting.

The delegates approved the organization’s charter and elected its chairman – Yuri Ram, head of the information analysis portal “Imperiya”.

The main goal of this public association, as stated in the charter, is to further the formation of the Eurasian Union, which was ratified by the presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

“Now our top-priority goal is to register,” Yu.Baranchik informed BelaPAN. “Documents will be submitted to the Ministry of Justice within the next two weeks. If all goes well, we will again call the organization’s board to chalk out the priorities for the near future”.

Among them, as noted by the leader of the national union, is the increase in the number of members, creation of their own media, popularization of the ideas and work with the citizens of Belarus from “all strata of the society”.

He believes that one of the main activities of the Eurasian Peoples’ Union is to cooperate with state run public authorities. Besides that, stressed Yu.Baranchik, the new organization favours the membership of Ukraine in the Eurasian Union.
