Statement issued by Foreign Ministers of CSTO member states.
Acting in the spirit of common allied approach concerted within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and in view of the imposition of economic restrictions against the Republic of Belarus on the part of the European Union, the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kirghiz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan confirmed the inadmissibility of economic pressure or coercion in international relations.
Such measures infringe upon the legitimate interests of countries’ economic security, which is fraught with damage to mutually beneficial cooperation and development of integration processes on the Eurasian continent, as well as undermine mutual trust between the partners, which, in the end, may have a negative impact on stability and security in the region.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kirghiz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan strongly believe that only equitable dialogue will contribute to the settlement of international disputes, and oppose any action inconsistent with the spirit and principles of good-neighborliness and mutual respect.
