Educational systems of Belarus and Russia require speedy unification, said member of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly Committee on Social Policy, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Issues Vladimir Zdanovich during a video conference “Moscow-Mink”.

Educational systems of Belarus and Russia require speedy unification, said member of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly Committee on Social Policy, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Issues Vladimir Zdanovich during a video conference “Moscow-Mink”.

“It may seem that all the necessary steps have already been taken. However, we must revise our agreements, which have lost relevance, so that out children could get an education of any complexity in any part of the Union State,” said V.Zdanovich. Among others, the deputy proposed to legislate the following wording: “The parties shall grant equal rights to citizens when entering an educational institution in accordance with uniform admission policies”.

According to V.Zdanovich, the Council of the Republic of Belarusian National Assembly has adopted draft Education Code. This document details all the rights of citizens of Russia and Belarus in the field of education – from preschool to postgraduate education. At the same time, the deputy emphasized the need to unify the schedules of graduation examinations at secondary schools, the form of entrance examinations to universities and colleges.

“This field of activity unites Russians and Belarusians, but formation of a unified educational space will greatly depend on the level of relations between the states,” he summarized. “Creation of a Common Economic Space and Belarus’ entry into Bologna process will promote the harmonization of our educational systems even more. Only then will we be able to say that our children have equal conditions for getting an education of any level”.
