The problem of certain complications that arise on the road to approval and implementation of Union programs has been raised in the media more than once. In spite of the indisputable benefit that can be derived if this important area of ??the Union State is developed, experts fear that the far too complicated process of approving Union programmes can result in the sizable decrease in their number.
“There are examples when the harmonization of certain projects had dragged on for 5 years,” reads the newspaper “Soyuznoe Veche” (28.07.2011). “If in the next year or two the mechanism of approving Union programmes is not simplified, those many “waiting” will simply leave the queue”.
However, the process of implementing active Union programmes is paid scrupulous attention to. In particular, “the programmes aimed to support children and mothers are a subject to State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin’s exclusive control” ("Soyuz. Belarus – Russia”, 28.07.2011). The programme “BelRosTransgen-2” is making a good progress, scientists-geneticists are already working out the next programme – “BelRosTransgen-3”. As was noted by the General Director of RUE “Scientific and Practical Center of NAS of Belarus for Livestock," N. Popkov, “soon lactoferin produced within the framework of the Union State programme will be used not only for medical purposes, but also as food” (“Soyuz.by” , 28.07.2011).
