Results of Republican contest on computer strategic game «Operation “Bagration”» summed up

The results of republican contests on strategic computer game “Operation “Bagration”” were summed up on June, 29th, 2009 in Belarusian state museum of history of the Great Patriotic War. The winners have become the team from Grodno district.

The results of republican contests on strategic computer game “Operation “Bagration”” were summed up on June, 29^th, 2009 in Belarusian state museum of history of the Great Patriotic War. The winners have become the team from Grodno district.

Deputy minister of education Tatiana Kovaleve underlined that “at the contest one could feel a mixed atmosphere of fighting spirit, highly advanced technologies and pride that gripped any boy who not only won the game but also felt himself one of the soldiers who won the battle”.

The head of the Belarusian state museum of history of Great Patriotic War Sergei Azaronak said that “today when there is so much unreliable information in popular science literature, Mass Media and Internet and even pure fabrication of information about course and results of the World War ll it is highly important to give young generation an objective side of events and show the role of Red Army in the Great Victory. Strategic Game “Operation “Bagration”” completed this task”.

We remind that organizers of the contest were Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian State museum of history of Great Patriotic War and SOOO “Game Stream”. All in all 5 thousand gamers from Belarus took part in knockout competitions. The age of the contestants ranged from 13 to 17.
