According to the information given by the State frontier committee of the Republic of Belarus, the largest illegal migration channel to the European Union has been blocked at the Belarusian and Lithuanian border, which the Chechen transfrontier criminal group tried to establish across Belarus.
On the night from Saturday to Sunday near the check point "Privalka" Grodno frontier detachment workers conducted an effective frontier operation.
In the attempt of illegal crossing the border with Lithuania 24 illegal immigrants from South East Asia were detained: 12 citizens of Vietnam and the same number of citizens of Pakistan.
At the same time 6 citizens of Russia of the Chechen nationality who took part in the organization and support of this illegal crossing were detained. The scheme, according to which malefactors acted, isn’t a new one. 4 Chechens conveyed illegal immigrants to Minsk by train "Moscow-Kaliningrad". Then they transported them by 5 taxis to Grodno where they were supposed to be met by two representatives of the Chechen diaspora from Poland who already arrived for a direct transportation of migrants to Lithuania and then to Poland.
At the moment Grodno frontier detachment workers are carrying out necessary checking actions for the identification of illegal immigrants and gathering the evidentiary base concerning the organizers and accomplices of illegal migration channel.
