Belarus Youth Team Is to Participate in Play-off Qualifying Round of European Championship-2009

Ranking second in its group Belarus Football Youth Team (players aged under 21) is to participate in play-off qualifying round of European championship-2009.

Ranking second in its group Belarus Football Youth Team (players aged under 21) is to participate in play-off qualifying round of European championship-2009.

It became possible thanks to the fact that on September 9^th in Riga Juri Kurnenin’s charges played a drawn game 0:0 with the Latvian team. Having played eight games the team scored 17 points and is now reckoned among other 14 ones that will play to secure themselves one of 7 places in the final of European championship.

We would remind you that according to the regulations both the winners of 10 qualifying groups (Italy, Turkey, England, Spain, Switzerland, Finland, Austria, Serbia, Germany, Wales) and four teams ranking second and having the best results (Croatia, Belarus, Israel, France) will participate in play-off games.

The draw of play-off pairs will take place on September 12^th while the matches are scheduled for October 11^th-15^th. The final tournament will be held from June 15^th till 23^rd, 2009 in Sweden.
