Day of Ukraine Took Place at “Slavyansliy Bazaar”

According to the calendar of the International Arts Festival “Slavyanskiy Bazaar in Vitebsk”, 15th June is the Day of Ukrainian Culture. The start was made by the press conference with the participation of both leaders of the creative delegation and authors of the concerts’ concept. Yaroslav Guskov, Director-General of the State Concert Agency “Ukraine”, which traditionally organizes the Day of Culture, stressed that each time they try to show themselves from new perspectives. For seventeen years a great number of creative groups and performers have visited Vitebsk. Opera singers, circus actors and even rock musicians have been to the city in order to see the festival and to show themselves. Actually, rich-in-talent Ukraine always had something to show. In recent years up to 300 people representing different styles and trends of art have participated in gala concerts. This year only one performer appeared on festival stage – People’s Artist of Ukraine, main discovery of Vitebsk festival-2006 – Ruslana. At present she is one of the most popular singers in Slavonic countries and one of the most famous Ukrainian performers in Europe.

The singer told about her new programme “Amazon”. According to directors’ concept, this colourful show should carry the audience to the fabulous world created with the help of state-of-the-art technologies, from which the singer returns to the past, to her long-popular songs. This new programme was partially shown in some European countries, but the full one – shown for the first time in Vitebsk.

The audience who visited the performance confirm: it was a fantastic show in mood and in performance as well as in visual sequence. The spectators saw an absolutely new Ruslana.
