Ulyanovsk customs officers prevent attempt to transfer sibutramine across the Customs Union

A package from China, addressed to a Ulyanovsk resident was intercepted and inspected. by the International Mail Unit. The parcel contained 100 green packages. Each box contained bags of substances which were purporting to be food supplements for weight loss judging by the name ‘Green coffee – 800’. The substance was sent for examination. Experts confirmed the customs officers’ concerns: the parcel, weighing 9 kg 432 g in total, contained the powerful drug - sibutramine which was being sent under the guise of a food supplement for weight reduction.

Representative Office of Russian Railways is opened in Minsk

The Representative Office of the JSC Russian Railways was opened in Minsk on 10 October. Belarusian delegation takes part in EXPO 1520 - 4th International Forum - in Russia

In the near future the State Customs Committee of Belarus will host a meeting of the Belarusian customs authorities, representatives of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and of the Polish Customs Service. The meeting will discuss urgent issues concerning the implementation of the international technical assistance projects for both the construction of the Polovtsy check-point on the Polish side and the construction of the Peschatka check-point on the Belarusian side.

ECE may tighten conditions for trade relations with Ukraine ahead of its accession to WTO

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has reported to the Prime agency that the Customs Unions of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan may change the conditions for trade relations with Ukraine should Kiev sign an association agreement with the European Union, however the conditions will still be no tighter than those for other WTO countries.

Customs Union increases import duties on pipe layers
