Union State Literature and Art Award is a measure that has a deep spiritual essence, said Sergej Shuhno, deputy Union state secretary, during the press-conference in Moscow. For that very reason, as noticed the official, this measure can’t be defined as one-time culturological action. This year Union State Awards will be given to People’s Artists of Belarus Mikhail Finberg and actor Vladimir Gostyuhin as well as to People’s Artist of Russia, artist and director, Sergej Artsibashev at the International Art Festival “Slavyanski Bazar”, mentioned Sergej Shuhno. This award is financed from the Union State budget as well as other more than 70 cultural events that have been financed from the moment of Belarus and Russia Community Treaty signing in 1996. All this, deputy Union Secretary pointed out, shows that from the moment of Belarus and Russia Community Treaty signing cultural interaction of the two countries has noticeably smartened up.
