Union State food security to be discussed in Grodno

On October, 14-15, 2009 in Grodno oblast there will be a Parliamentary Assembly regular seminar on Union State formation titled “Coordinated agricultural policy of Belarus and Russia is the most important condition for Union State food security”. On October, 14-15, 2009 in Grodno oblast there will be a Parliamentary Assembly regular seminar on Union State formation titled “Coordinated agricultural policy of Belarus and Russia is the most important condition for Union State food security”. That was reported to the press-service of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly.

The seminar will gather Parliamentary Assembly deputies, representatives of Union State Permanent Committee, core ministers and departments of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation and scientists of the both states.

The main topic of the seminar is the development and implementation of the main programs in agricultural and industrial spheres aimed at the implementation of the Union State food security.

The meeting is expected to cover the issue of trade cooperation development including those under international and frontier cooperation, improvement of the forms and methods of trading, development of commodity distribution networks as well as the cooperation of Belarus and Russia in the sphere of agricultural mechanical engineering.

The participants of the seminar will consider the following issues:

· Unification and harmonization of national legislations of Belarus and Russia in the sphere of food security;

· Improvements of the forms and methods of state support and commodity producer protection in agricultural and industrial sphere;

· Improvement of quality and security of agricultural production, raw materials and food;

· Formation of common food market;

· Monitoring of food security state.

Besides, during the seminar there will be a meeting on economic policy held by Parliamentary Assembly Commission. Their members will consider the issue on organization and realization of works on accounting, estimation and management of Union State assets, discuss the course of preparation works for Union State projects and programs implementation. Representatives of Union State Permanent Committee will present the report of Union State Council of Ministers on Union State budget implementation for 2008 and 2009.

Within the scopes of the seminar union parliamentarians will visit the branch of JSC “Grodnohlebproduct” the plemptitsereproductor “Yubileynyi” and JSC “Vasilishki”.
