On May, 22, 2009 there was a meeting of Belarusian PM Sergei Sidorski with his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin. During the meeting the problems of the forthcoming meeting of Union Council of Ministers have been discussed. According to Sergei Sidorski at the meeting of Union State Council of Ministers that will take place on May, 28th, 2009 in Minsk the problem of anti-crisis plan implementation will be examined.

In his turn Vladimir Putin expressed the hope that at the meeting the issues related to union relations will be thoroughly discussed. “In the short run we will thoroughly discuss our union relations. We will see what impact the global financial economic crisis has on them. We will have a possibility to talk about all the problems we face”, - said Vladimir Putin.

Sergei Sidorski pointed out that at the moment the deputy chairpersons of the Russian and Belarusian governments are working over the implementation of the anti crisis plan that was signed by the both Prime Ministers.

Russian Premier believes it is right that the sides use the opportunities for extra meetings. “The more contacts we have the more opportunities to discuss problems and their salvation”, - said Vladimir Putin.

Belarus suggests Russia brisking up the work over the implementation of the common anti crisis plan, said Sergei Sidorski to journalists. “ First of all we focused our attention on the issues related to the concrete measured that have been described in the anti crisis plan including the access of Belarusian production on equal terms to Russian market and Russian goods to Belarusian market. Unfortunately these measured haven’t been taken yet”, - said Sergei Sidorski.

He underlined that the bank system received the corresponding resources but they stay in banks instead of working for economies.

“Therefore we together with the Chairman of Russian government focus our attention on seeking the ways of giving the impetus to the economies and restoration of the turnover that we had with the Russian Federation before, since it reduced almost to 50% in the first quarter of 2009”, - said the chairman of Belarusian government.

Sergei Sidorski also pointed out that he is “satisfied with the fact that the Chairman of Russian government Vladimir Putin expressed desire to discuss these issues with the experts and that on May, 28 we will adopt certain resolutions to the problems”.

Belarusian Premier also said that the question of the granting Belarus the last tranche of Russian credit at the rate of $ 500 million will be discussed at the meeting of Union State Council of Ministers on May, 28th in Minsk.

Besides the question of Belarusian construction of the objects for the Olympic games in Sochi has been discussed by the Premiers at the meeting.
