On Monday, State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS countries affairs and relations with countrymen as well as some representatives of Belarusian Parliament opened a photo exhibition at State Duma which is dedicated to Belarusian nature reserve “Belovezhskaya Puscha”.

Answering journalists’ questions Pavel Borodin noted the intensive character of Belarusian-Russian financial and economic integration processes. “The following figures testify to the effect that economic ties between Belarus and Russia are developing quite dynamically: while turnover between Russia and post-soviet republics amounts to $72 million, Belarus’ share makes up $35 million which is practically a half,” said P.Borodin.

He also reported that so far Belarus and Russia had established 28 thousand joint ventures employing 5 million people. “Here is just one typical example: at the time of the Soviet Union they produced just 230 cars whereas today our joint ventures turn out 322 thousand cars a year,” said P.Borodin.

Answering the question whether our trade and economic ties could be even more efficient, State Secretary of the Union State answered in the affirmative and added that for that “we need the Constitutional Act”.
