Day of Russian Culture to Be Held in Gomel

Days of Culture of the CIS countries will be held in Gomel till the end of the year within the framework of the action “Gomel – Cultural Capital of Belarus and the Commonwealth in 2011”, reported press service of Gomel City Executive Committee.

One of the biggest events should become the Day of Russian culture scheduled for the end of September. The programme of the event includes concerts with famous Russian performers and bands, guest performances of Ryazan Soborna Theater as well as several large-scale exhibitions. In autumn the cultural capital will be waiting for Yuri Bashmet music academy.

Besides that, in the nearest future it is planned to implement international art projects together with Georgia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Armenia. In addition, the framework of the action encloses presentations of these countries’ cultures in Gomel at exhibitions, on cinema days and during famous bands’ tours.
