There are numerous examples of joint creative work carried out by Belarusian and Russian filmmakers. Russian masters shoot films and telefilms in Belarus while Belarusian actors take part in Russian films. That is why the topic of developing Belarusian filmmaking within the framework of cooperation with Russian cinematographers, which was brought up during the videobriefing at the information-analysis portal of the Union State, attracted the liveliest interest (“Soyuz. Belarus – Russia”, 28.07.2011).
“Belarus and Russia are key components in common success if they get down to business together. It is a strategic partnership, not a once-only action. It is a deliberate determination to succeed,” noted general director of the film studio “Belarusfilm” O.Silvanovich (“Interfaks-Zapad”, 27.07.2011). Talking about the prospects for the Union cinema, O.Silvanovich expressed a wish: “It would be great if these projects were launched on a regular basis, then we could “customize” a special camera crew for such projects and follow an absolutely different routine. To date, we would like to extend this experience. We have already put forward a certain initiative, got the approval of Russian and Belarusian Ministers of Culture, and have written a number of letters to P.Borodin asking for support. At present we are waiting for the opinion of the Russian Ministry of Finance (“Soyuz.by”, 26.07.2011).
