Ivan Bambiza Met with Importers of Belarusian Milk into Russia

Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Ivan Bambiza held a meeting for the Union State Standing Committee and the founders of the “Association of distributors and importers of Belarusian dairy products into Russia”.

Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Ivan Bambiza held a meeting for the Union State Standing Committee and the founders of the “Association of distributors and importers of Belarusian dairy products into Russia”.

The initiative to set up a new association belongs to some Russian enterprises specializing in distribution of Belarusian dairy products. The representatives of these companies held consultations with the responsible authorities and experts of Belarusian Government and Belarusian Embassy in Moscow. Besides that, they conducted negotiations with Belarusian banks on attracting loans to build modern warehousing facilities for importers of Belarusian dairy products.

The initiative to found an association was supported by the leadership of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly Secretariat. At the end of May the Secretariat held a meeting for potential founders of this association. Its participants agreed there is a need for such structure.

In early June, the representatives of Russian and Belarusian companies and organizations met at the founding conference within the walls of the Union State Standing Committee. Among them were: “Molochnaya Kompaniya” TH “Glubokoe”, “MV Kvadrat”, “Savushkin Produkt”, “Minskoblprodukt”, “Logistik”, “SEB “Provintsial” ltd and others.

At the meeting it was stated that the association established is a voluntary, non-profit self-governed association of enterprises, organizations and other legal entities working in the area of promotion, storage and sale of dairy products.

The participants of the meeting discussed the many burning issues regarding deliveries of dairy products from Belarus. According to experts, Russian market is “rather competitive” so one must be “ahead of the game” to work on it.

“In Belarus farmers enjoy strong support from the state and they are reproached for that in Russia,” said Ivan Bambiza. “But they do not intend to exclude Russian producers from their own market. Market situation in Russian regions is monitored and appropriate prices are set, therefore it is wrong to say there is some kind of dumping”.

During the meeting business representatives noted that there is a problem of delayed response of Belarusian dairy products producers to the situation on the Russian market. Russian market changes every week, and many deals broke down due to lack of responsiveness which characterizes Belarusian producers.

At the same time the majority of Belarusian enterprises quickly respond to changes on Russian market, fulfill all requirements of customers and as a result successfully sell their products in Russia.
