Council of Ministers of the Union State to Take Place in Minsk

The Council of Ministers of the Union State is to be held in Minsk on March 15th. Russia will be represented by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin who will arrive in the Belarusian capital for a visit. Belarusian party will be headed by Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The Council of Ministers of the Union State is to be held in Minsk on March 15th. Belarusian party will be headed by Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.

It is planned that the meeting will consider 27 issues. The participants of the Council of Ministers are to discuss the fulfillment of Belarus-Russia Joint Action Plan aimed to minimize the effects of the financial crisis, improve the parameters of the balance of payments as well as business environment and bilateral trade. Among other items on the agenda are: the results of trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in 2010; the progress of the Programme of Concerted Action in the filed of foreign policy taken by the States Parties to the Treaty on Formation of the Union State for 2010-2011; the results of implementing the Action Plan on Formation and Functioning of the Joint Transport System of the Union State for 2008-2010.

Besides that, they will also consider the projected supply and demand balance in relation to the major items of the Union State produce for 2011 as well as the balance of energy resources of the Union State for 2011.

It is also planned to discuss the Concept of Union State Property Management, draft Union State programme “Development of an integrated system for standardization of space technology developed within the framework of the Union State programmes and projects” (“Standartizatsiya-SG”) for 2011-2014, the Conception of the Union State programme “Promising Semiconductor Heterostructures and Devices Based on Them” (reference number “Pramen”) and a number of other issues.

During the meeting the Council of Ministers of the Union State will also discuss some pressing problems of Belarusian-Russian relations and sign a number of international treaties.
