In 2012 Union State to Get New Opportunities within the CES

In 2012 the Union State will get extra opportunities within the Common Economic Space, said Head of the International Relations Department at the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Belarus, Doctor of Political Sciences Sergei Kizima during a briefing on www.soyuz.by.

“The projects that will be implemented on the three states’ arena, will yield positive results for the Union State as well,” he said.

In his opinion, one of the most important functions of the CES is to take care of each member state, in particular, in economic terms. “The statements promising that from now on any economic sanctions imposed against the members of the CES will be reviewed by all its members, and all the three states will be looking for an adequate response to these sanctions and support each other are very encouraging. That means that the issue of economic sanctions, which is acute for guilty-though-guiltless Belarus, is widely considered as a natural continuation of the policy aimed to extend the spheres of influence of Euro-Atlantic civilization. Accordingly, Belarus experiences an overwhelming political, economic, cultural and civilization pressure. So, the Common Economic Space should see to it that tiny by global geopolitical standards Belarus could continue to remain a sovereign state, and as such express the will to participate in overall integration processes,” added the expert.
