The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin aired the intermediate results of his 8-year staying in office as the Head of State during an extended sitting of Russia’s State Council in the Kremlin’s St.George Hall on February 8.
Mr. Putin recited examples of economic success, that Russia has reached for the last years: for the past 8 years the Russian economy has considerably exceeded the showings of the late 90s and became one of the eight leading economies of the world. The amount of foreign investments into Russia’s economy has increased seven times for the last eight years, at that during the preceding years the outflow of capital came to $10-25 milliard annually. In general the capitalization of the Russian market has grown 22 times for the 8 years. The GDP volume reached 1 billion 330 milliard roubles in Russia last year, having thus outperformed Mexico, Brazil and South Korea. Vladimir Putin denied the idea of a forthcoming denomination of the national currency and informed that the actual income of the Russian citizens increased 2.5 times for the last 8 years, even with account of inflation. “Unemployment and poverty have reduced more that 2 times”, – quote the Russian information agencies. The President stressed that Russia must not let itself get involved into a new race of armaments, draining its economy and resources.
The President of Russia told about his vision of work of the Russian Government. The Rosbalt information agency informs: Vladimir Putin noted that the state machine “is bureaucratized and is not motivated for dynamic development”. “It takes the Government months or even years to pass any decision, even a most common one, – marked Mr. Putin. – The Government must be the center of working out the ideology and strategic plans, approve federal programmes and set clear tasks and assessment criteria, estimate the necessary resources, but not get buried under the unnecessary details”.
Among other milestones of the Russian President’s speech is the statement that personal development is both a crucial target and an essential condition for the progress of the modern society, that’s why the large gap between the country’s poor and rich people must be considerably reduced. Besides, in Mr. Putin’s words, Russia managed to overcome regional separatism. He reminded that eight years ago some regions were promoting themselves as sovereign states, “associated with the Russian Federation”, - communicates the “Novosty” information agency.
On the whole “Russia must improve as far as the career promotion, considerable lifetime increase of social status and well-being, supporting talent and success are concerned”. Great changes are awaiting Russia, judging by Mr. Putin’s hopes that the middle class must amount to 60% by 2020, or even 70%, which would be even better,.
