D.Medvedev: Cooperation between Belarus and Russia must become an example for other EurAsEC and CSTO member-states

High activity of the cooperation between Belarus and Russia must be made an example of beneficial partnership for other member-states of such international organization as EurAsEC and CSTO, believes President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev. He expressed his opinion during the Union State Supreme State Council meeting that was held in Moscow.

Recently a huge work over the creation of optimal economic balance and over the strengthening of the Union State basis in this sphere has been done by the Belarusian and Russian parties, said RF President.

As D.Medvedev said, the main priority task in this area for the close-up perspective is the quick formation of common economic and customs space. “We are ready to activate this work both bilaterally and within “EurAsEC group of three”, - he said.

One of the issues stated in the SCC meeting agenda is the approval of the cooperated action program in the sphere of foreign policy of the member-states of the Union State formation Treaty for 2008-2009. Dmitri Medvedev underlined that strengthening of foreign-policy cooperation is also one of the most important Union State priorities.

According to him, the parties must work actively and adapt the gathered experience to the modern situation. Only such an approach may create new dynamics to the integration processes.
