Judging by this year’s January-September results Belarus is reckoned among six main trade partners of Russia

According to Federal Customs Service of Russia, Belarusian share in Russia’s foreign commerce amounted to 4.9% having increased by 0.1% as against the same period of last year.

According to Russian customs statistics, in January-September the volume of trade between Belarus and Russia totaled $ 27 billion 804.3 million, which is 53.7% more as compared with the year 2007. Belarusian export amounted to $8 billion 591.4 million (35.1% increase), import from Russia – $19 billion 212.9 million (63.8%).

Traditionally, the first place among key trading partners of Russia in January-September was taken by Germany – $ 52 billion 651.7 million. The top six also included Netherlands – $50 billion 300.5 million; China – $41 billion 595.4 million; Italy – $40 billion 375.4 million and Ukraine – $32 billion 913.8 million.

In terms of the volume of trade with Russia Belarus outstrips such economically developed countries as the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Japan, South Korea and some others.
