“IT Bel” – Belarus takes a new step towards information community

Editor-in-chief Nikolai Maslovski stressed that the journal “IT Bel” is the first and the only specialized domestic edition for IT-managers and experts which is devoted to business automation technologies. IT is a large-scale and fast developing sector that is soon to take a key position in domestic economy.

According to experts, Belarus is reckoned among 13 largest outsourcing providers in the world. Domestic software market is represented by well-known companies and holdings. Belarusian companies are well-represented in national and world ratings.

The issue of “IT Bel” journal that covers development and introduction of IT-technologies can be considered a marquee event indicating that this sector has moved on to a qualitatively new footing.

Nikolai Maslovski noted that “the issue of a specialized journal was a long-felt need on the IT market. The journal is an independent edition and is open to a dialogue”.

One of the authors, professor, Doctor of Engineering Vladimir Grabaurov said that Belarusian specialists are good at inventing but implementation and introduction leave much to be desired. Belarusian ideas find application in China, Japan and other countries. According to the professor, information technologies should contribute to companies’ wellbeing.

In Belarus there are 650 IT-enterprises. 65% of them are large-scale companies that develop software. IT-sector secures 15 thousand well-paid jobs. Every year Belarusian universities train 3.5 thousand young specialists. More than half of IT-companies, which is about 6.5 thousand specialists, mainly work on Belarus’ market. They advance the progress of domestic businesses and Belarus’ economy, help our companies work up international markets. That is why the issue of such journal and its work aimed to increase the level of professional training in IT sphere will favour the adoption of high information technologies and will bring Belarus nearer to the information community.
