The government of Kyrgyzstan plans to declare elimination of the American military base in the near future. The president of the state Kurmanbek Bakiev plans to sign the appropriate decree before the coming official visit to Russia.

According to information received, it will be offered to Americans to remove their entire infrastructure within 6 months and to stop the activity of the base "Gansi" created as far back as in 2001.

It is supposed that such a decision of the Kirghiz authorities will influence favorably the negotiations with Russia concerning the granting the country a credit of 300 million dollars which is so much expected by Bishkek. We would notice that president K.Bakiev also counts on the restructuring of the Kirghiz debt to Russia which has already reached about 180 million dollars with the percents taken into account.

Meanwhile experts point out that K.Bakiev's decision will hardly cause any criticism from opposition which gave up hoping for the transatlantic help and began to seek for support from Russia.

It is worth mentioning that many called "orange revolution", which led to K.Bakiev's power, a pro-Western one. However the regime change has not led to deterioration of the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russian. Within several years the Russian and American military bases co-existed in the country.

We would remind that the airbase of the US Air Forces was located on the territory of the international airport of the capital of Kyrgyzstan in 2001 under the UN mandate within the scopes of the antiterrorist operation "Indestructible freedom" in Afghanistan. Now there are about thousands of American military men and some US Air Force military-transport planes present on the base. According to America, the USA transfers annually at a rough estimate more than $150 million to Kyrgyzstan.
