Belarus proposed to introduce Russia into the Group of Friends of the Eastern Partnership, informed press secretary of Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Savinykh during a briefing with journalists.

“Different countries suggest different partners to be introduced into this Group of Friends. Naturally, the Republic of Belarus offers its Customs Union partners – first of all Russia and Kazakhstan. We believe that their participation will contribute to strengthening of the common economic space within the “Greater Europe”. We also propose to introduce some other European states into the Group of Friends, the ones that are not included in the European Union, but are a part of the European Free Trade Association,” said the press secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
