On August 19th, according to the plan of troops training, Belarusian and Russian air and anti-aircraft defence forces launched manoeuvres with a number of their formations and military units.

As is reported by the press service of Belarusian Ministry of Defense, headquarters of AF and AAD forces, departments of Western and Northwestern strategic and tactical headquarters, departments of formations and military units of Armed Forces as well as fighting detachments 15, 56 and 147 of anti-aircraft rocket brigades take part in manoeuvres.

The manoeuvres are scheduled to take place from August 19th to September 11th under the direction of the Commanders-in-Chief of AF and AAD forces strategic and tactical headquarters at the Russian firing ground “Alushuk” where fighting detachments of anti-aircraft rocket brigades will undergo instruction practice.

Such manoeuvres have taken place more than once and aim to ensure systematic and efficient preparation of military headquarters for the full-scale strategic manoeuvres of the Armed Forces.

The manoeuvres will consist of four stages. At the first stage, being at their posts, the participants will perfect the planned use of formations and military units for repulsing air attacks.

During the second one the crew will be redeployed by railway and air echelons to a new positional region, that is, to the firing ground “Alushuk” situated in Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation.

The most difficult and responsible one will be the third stage. At the firing ground “Alushuk” the participants will perfect the management of AF and AAD forces formations and military units during the operations; fighting detachments will conduct fighting launches.

For the last ten years all formations and units of anti-aircraft rocket forces as well as crews of fighter aircraft depots and detachments of radio engineering troops have undergone instruction practice at the firing grounds of the Russian Federation.
