CSTO and EurAsEC join their efforts in fight against terror, crime and illegal migration

Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Eurasian economic community (EurAsEC) join their efforts in the fight against terror, crime and illegal migration, reports the CSTO press-service.

Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Eurasian economic community (EurAsEC) join their efforts in the fight against terror, crime and illegal migration, reports the CSTO press-service.

According to it, on February, 26 plenipotentiaries of the organizations came to an agreement on the project on the List of main areas of cooperation.

As it is planned CSTO and EurAsEC will coordinate their work in law enforcement sphere that includes fight against economic smuggling, drugs and other crimes, counteraction against money laundering and terror financing, regulation of migration including labor migration and detecting and suppression of the illegal migration channels.

The organizations are also aimed at common activities in the sphere of energy security, maintenance of hydro technical structure and other strategically important objects, safety of transport systems and airspace and prevention and liquidation of consequences of emergencies of anthropogenic and nature origin.

While realizing the plans, CSTO and EurAsEC will coordinate their efforts in the sphere of education and training of personnel of law enforcement agencies, frontier and customs services and agencies and departments on emergency situations.

Particular attention will be paid to the issues of military and economic cooperation of the member-states, to inter-parliamentary cooperation and to the coordination of activities aimed at Afghanistan beautification.

“The project on the List of main areas of cooperation between CSTO and EurAsEC is planned to be considered soon at the common meeting of CSTO Secretariat and EurAsEC Integration committee”, - press-service explains.

We would remind that Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tadzhikistan and Uzbekistan are the member-states of Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Eurasian economic community includes Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tadzhikistan. Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine have an observer status.
