Belarus receives first Russian anti-aircraft missile systems batch “Tor-M2” - Yuri Zhadobin, Defense Minister of Belarus, said.
"The first two cars arrived yesterday" - Zhadobin quoted on Thursday according to Belarusian state news agency BelTA.
"By December 24, 14 pieces of equipment that make up the first battery “Tor-M2” will arrive"- added the Minister. He said that the battery will be based in Baranavichy, Brest region.
All-weather tactical air defense systems series "Tor-M" are intended to cover the important administrative, economic, and military installations, the first echelon of ground connections from the blows anti-radiation missiles and cruise missiles, remotely piloted aircraft, planning bombs, airplanes and helicopters, including the executed technology "stealth".
"Tor-M2" adopted for use in Russia and launched into production in 2008. The main difference compared with "the Tor-M1" - increasing the rate of fire from 10-12 goals per minute to 20.
