Five servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been decorated with the Order of Honour for the contribution to the development of international military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. As was reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko signed the relevant decree on June 7th.
State awards were conferred on the commander of the motorized infantry battalion of the 21st detached motorized rifle brigade of the 2nd combined-arms army of the Central Military District, Lieutenant Colonel Konstantin Gaponenko and commander of the 2nd combined-arms army of the same district, Major-General Alexander Zhuravlev.
Besides that, the Order of Honour was awarded to the commander of the air squadron of the 6972nd Air Base of the Air Forces and Air Defense Command of the Southern Military District, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Konovalenko; chief inspector-navigator of the navigational service of the Chief of Aviation Administration (Air Forces General Headquarters) of the Western Military District, Colonel Anatoly Minyailo; commander of the howitzer self-propelled artillery battalion of the 6th detached tank brigade of the 20th combined-arms army (operational command) of the Western Military District, Major Alexander Pavlyshin.
