All Union State Programmes Yield Big Benefit

Under his words, programmes on prevention of crime, provision of the necessary facilities for and defence of the Union State external borders, joint programmes on developing supercomputers “SKIF” and space exploration as well as on pursuing efficient social policy are economically sound.

Deputy State Secretary paid special attention to the programme “Improvement of informing population and sectors of economy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus about existing and expected weather-climatic conditions, state and abuse of environment” for years 2007-2011. The key objective of the programme is to improve the system, raise the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of provision with different kinds of information about existing and expected weather-climatic conditions, state and abuse of environment in order to create safe living conditions and ensure stable social and economic development in Belarus and Russia as well as in the Union State on the whole.

S.Shukhno noted that the significance of the programme, harmony in work of Belarusian and Russian experts confirms gradual change from programme to programme – there are no one or two-year breaks and at present the third stage of the hydrometeorology programme is already being implemented.
