Union programmes are a small constituent of the integration policy which is pursued by the leaders of Belarus and Russia, said State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin during the press conference at the national Press Centre of Belarus.

According to the State Secretary, this constituent is a locomotive of economic harmonization between Belarus and Russia. Union programmes have proved the necessity of their existence.

“I remember adopting the first diesel automobile production programme. Some auto makers said it wasn’t worth venturing as everything could be bought in Germany. And now they don’t imagine their existence without Union programmes. At heir request we included them in the second programme, then in the third,” gave an example State Secretary of the Union State.

“People clearly understand (using Union programmes as an example) that we show how to create jobs, how to set our industry back on its feet,” he added.
