Evgeni Goryachev: In 2008 joint activities of Belarus and Russia aimed to overcome the consequences of Chernobyl disaster were efficient and systematic

According to the official, in 2008 RUB162.87 million was assigned from the Union budget in order to implement the Programme. This money was appropriated to carry out the activities financed according to R & D budget item to the sum of RUB 32 million, according to sundry expense item – RUB 86.95 million as well as capital expenditure – RUB 72.6 million. By the end of the year the above mentioned means were almost completely consumed – the remainder at the rate of 0.1% came out as a result competitive tendering saving.

Evgeni Goryachev also noted that last year scientific research was held within 7 government contracts. Besides that, the work was carried out with the money assigned according to the budget item “sundry expense” within 25 government contracts.

In 2008 within the Union Programme and at the cost of capital expenditure the works were under way to prepare the premises for the Russian branch of Russian-Belarusian information centre for Chernobyl disaster problems and to fit it out. At the end of the year the job was completed. Moreover, last year at the cost of the Union State Programme on joint activities of Belarus and Russia aimed to overcome the consequences of Chernobyl disaster for the years 2006-2010 the medical centres that render medical assistance to Chernobyl victims and Chernobyl disaster fighters were re-equipped with up-to-date telecommunications facilities. Much attention was also given to the development of the Integrated Chernobyl Register of Belarus and Russia.
