Belarusian national academy of science (NAS) discusses with Russia the possibility of creation of portable atomic station. That was reported by first deputy of chairperson of Belarusian NAS Petr Vityaz.

Belarusian national academy of science (NAS) discusses with Russia the possibility of creation of portable atomic station. That was reported by first deputy of chairperson of Belarusian NAS Petr Vityaz.

According to his words Russian state corporation “Rosatom” institutions addressed Belarusian NAS with the given proposal. “Today there is a discussion hereabout. Russian side proposed to consider the possibility of portable station construction since we had the largest experience in the sphere of their creation in the former USSR”, - explained P.Vityaz. Besides, the scientist pointed out that “these stations attract Russian people for energetic purposes in Siberia where minerals need to be extracted”. “It is very difficult to transport energy in other manner. For oil and gas production and for mining industry it is of great interest”, - he said.

P.Vityaz also added that the question about RF financing of this project has not been settled yet. “We say that we are not against participation in this project if it is financed”, - he added.
