Belarusian and Russian geology scientists have been actively cooperating for 10 years

The Deputy Minister also said that “Belarus and Russia are actively cooperating in the area of flora and fauna as well as air protection. We also execute works within the framework of the Union State. The Department on Hydrometeorology takes the most active part in this cooperation.

General Manager of RUE Alexander Shuravin reported that at the end of April in Volgograd region “Belgeologiya” would put in a tender for developing the bischofite field.

At present they are also implementing a large-scale programme aimed at exploration of transboundary territories. According to Deputy General Manager of RUE "Belgeologiya" Yaroslav Gribik, Belarus and Russia are jointly studying the transboundary territory of Orsha Depression.

Russia is also a major supplier of space information which is used in exploration work. Director of UE “Kosmoaerogeologiya” Andrei Pontus informed that they regularly exchange information processing technologies with their Russian colleagues. Among the partners of UE “Kosmoaerogeologiya” are such well-known Russian research and industrial centers as close corporation “Sovzond”, research and development centre “ScanEx” as well as State Scientific and Production Centre "Priroda".

Andrei Pontus also said that “in 2011 “Kosmoaerogeologiya” and the Russian Academy of Sciences will launch a joint project using our supercomputer”. “We will get access to the information that interests us, while our Russian counterparts to ours. On the whole, we have been successfully cooperating for almost 10 years now,” he summarized.

We would remind you that the cooperation between Belarusian and Russian geologists is based on the agreement on cooperation in the area of nature management signed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation on 14th March, 2000 in Minsk.
