Russian IT Companies Came to Belarus

As is reported by Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Slobodchuk, on April 14th Minsk hosted the meeting between the representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the management of the Russian company Yandex.

As is reported by Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Slobodchuk, on April 14th Minsk hosted the meeting between the representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the management of the Russian company Yandex.

According to the official, Yandex opens a representative office in Minsk and launches a portal yandex.by. “We realize that Yandex is a search engine with a worldwide reputation and so we are ready for constructive cooperation,” stressed Alexander Slobodchuk.

The portal of the Russian company can be operated both in Belarusian and Russian. A welcome feature of the new resource is that the search on yandex.by supports the morphology of the Belarusian language. According to the Russian company, 1.2 million of Belarusian residents make use of "Yandex" services every week.

Furthermore, company “Doctor Web” which produces an anti-virus product of the same name has also announced its arrival on the Belarusian market. The anti-virus of the Russian company was certified at the Operation Analysis Centre under the aegis of the President. Internet service provider “Atlant Telecom” became a major partner of “Doctor Web” on Belarusian market.
