Bobruisk holds the final stage of the National Ecological Forum
The Mogilev Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has reported to BELTA that the final stage of the 11th National Ecological Forum was held in Bobruisk between 23 - 25 August. The event was dedicated to making 2013 the ‘Year of Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection’ in the CIS countries.

Belarus and Myanmar discuss joint projects for bilateral military and technical cooperation
Between 12 – 16 August 2013 the 6th session of the Belarusian and Myanmar Joint Commission for Military Technical Cooperation took place in Naypyidaw (the Republic of the Union of Myanmar). The Commission was jointly led by Igor Bykov, the Chairman of the Military and Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus and Chairman of the Belarusian side of the Commission, together with Commodore Aung Thaung, the Deputy Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Myanmar side of the Commission.

Union will only renew relations with Uralkali on a mutually beneficial basis
Belaruskali is only ready to renew its partnership with Uralkali on a mutually beneficial basis. Valery Kirienko, the General Director of Belaruskali, announced this at a press conference. He said that it is impossible to settle disputes between Belarusian and Russian companies using the policies currently being applied by Uralkali.

Working days of the Belarusian Government
During a videoconference on 15 August Anatoly Kalinin, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, discussed implementation of the programmes for overhaul of the facilities for the collection, processing and housing of materials resources. The discussions were attended by senior officials from Republican agencies and organisations, regional executive committees and the Minsk Executive Committee.

In the period from January to July wholesale turnover in Belarus increased by 3.2%
Wholesale turnover in Belarus was Br 292.4 billion in the period from January to July. This was up 3.2% from the same period of 2012, as reported to BELTA by the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

Environmental impact assessment still applies …
Belarus and Russia guarantee the complete safety and quality of the nuclear power plant which is to be built in the northeast of Belarus. However it seems that Lithuania does not want to hear the truth. Last Saturday the Belarusian town of Ostrovets, in the Grodno Region, located near the boundary of the Union State and the EU considered the specific features of its location.
