In an interview with the correspondent of www.soyuz.by Viktor Babarikin, Chief Conductor of Belarusian Presidential Orchestra, said that the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus and Russian creative groups plan a lot of large-scale creative projects.

“We also hope that in 2009 the authorities will consider the possibility of our participation in Union State projects. In particular, we are ready to cooperate with the Union Youth Orchestra,” he said.

On the whole, Belarusian-Russian music relations have indeed joined the concert programmes of the two countries. As V.Babarikin noted, at the third International Festival of Yuri Bashmet which took place in Minsk Belarusian Presidential Orchestra accompanied popular classical operas as well as an operetta sung by a Moscow project “21st Century Tenors”; the festival “Slavyanskiy Bazar in Vitebsk” enables us to maintain relation with such titans of Russian variety art as Iosif Kobson.

“We also hope to implement some joint projects with the Kremlin Orchestra,” added V.Babarikin.
