Monument to Valenti Vankovich to Be Unveiled on the City Day in Minsk

A monument to Valenti Vankovich will be unveiled in Minsk on the City Day, informed today Director of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Prokoptsov at the press conference in Minsk.

The director of the museum told the media that “the memorial dedicated to Valenti Vankovich will be unveiled on the City Day, September 12th, at 12.00 near the museum “The Vankovichi’s House”. The authors of this work are sculptor V.Slobodchikov and architect B.Kazakov. He also added that the inauguration of the memorial would be held with the financial backing of Priorbank.

Moreover, Vladimir Prokoptsov informed that during the holidays the National Art Museum of Belarus would work until 2-3 a.m. Next year the museum is planning to hold an exhibition “Minsk in artists’ eyes”.

According to Valentina Sharangovich, director of the Museum of Modern Fine Art, on the City Day the museum is to hold two exhibitions: an exhibition of a Swiss photographer which will be devoted to a woman, and an exhibition of Belarusian artist Igor Tishin that will be devoted to his painting and art-objects.
