Belarusian customs workers took the third place at the 14th world championship in foothall among law enforcement teams

Belarusian State customs committee national team in mini football formed from the Brest, Gomel and Minsk central customs workers took the third place at the 14th world championship in mini football (foothall) among the law enforcement teams.

The competition was held on November, 24-28 in Belgian city Lommel. The organizer of the competition was international police association (IPA) that for the first time invited SCC team of the Republic of Belarus to participate.

The world champions became the national team of Russia that beat the national team of Brazil in penalty shoot-out. In the match for the third place Belarusian customs workers beat the champions-2004 and the prize-winners of the championship-2007 – the national team of Ukraine. Altogether there have been 40 teams that participated.

The prize winners of the championship were given cups one of which will legally stay in Brest customs forever. While receiving the deserved prize from the international police association the head of the Brest customs Yuri Brytkov expressed the hope that the participation of the customs officials in such prestigious competitions will be continued in future.
