The problems of Customs Union and common free market zone formation were considered at the regular meeting of EurAsEC Integration Committee which took place on 29th July in Moscow.

To speed up the preparation of the documents which are necessary to form Customs Union among Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, Integration Committee of Eurasian Economic Community will be in session every month now, reported Tair Mansurov, Secretary General of EurAsEC Integration Committee, summing up the regular meeting of Integration Committee which took place on 29th July, 2008 in Moscow. “Otherwise we won’t be able to fulfill the tasks that ensure the formation of the Customs Union. These are: common customs tariff, administration of union authorities, establishment of committees and the secretariat,” specified Tair Mansurov. In order to form an effective Customs Union of the three countries by 2010, we need to prepare 69 documents. It was decided to consider 28 of them in 2008, noted the Secretary General. At the meeting Belarusian delegation was headed by the Vice-Premier Andrei Kobyakov. Besides the questions related to the formation of the Customs Union, the participants of the meeting also examined the issues concerning conceptualization of innovation biotechnologies, establishment of common energy market as well as international activities of EurAsEC.
