On Monday a meeting between prime-ministers of Russia V. Putin and the Ukraine N. Nazarov took place.

Among the results of the talks according to the Russian vice-premier Igor Sechin, Russia and the Ukraine agreed to prepare intergovernmental agreements on gas in accelerated period of time. He added “the Ukraine made a number of additional proposals on cooperation in gas sphere; they are going to be discussed”.

During the meeting, as the newspaper “Kommersant” notes, V. Putin didn’t mention the possibility to use Ukrainian gas lines as an alternative for Belarusian: “However, as later vice-premier clarified, there is neither gas, no oil conflict between Russia and Belarus, and there is no need to discuss the additional lines”.
