We are going together with Russia now, but we are always ready to wait for Belarus to join the Customs Union. The statement was made by Karim Maximov the prime-minister of Astana on the 28th of June.

According to his words Kazakhstan is ready for other neighboring countries to join the Customs Union. But he added that “endless negotiations are impossible, it is necessary to make decisions and take action.”

We would remind that Kazakhstan has settled down all the disputable issues with Russia. Belarus hasn’t resolved all the questions concerning export customs tariffs on oil and oil products. As a result on the 28th of 2010 Russia and Kazakhstan agreed to put the Customs code of the Customs Union in force starting on the first of June 2010 on the bilateral bases.

The prime-minister of Kazakhstan has also discussed the possibility for the country to enter the World Trade Organization. He underlined that Russia and Kazakhstan are on the one and the same level regarding the negotiation state on entering the WTO. “Between the governments of Russia and Kazakhstan and their corresponding negotiable bodies a constant coordinated politics on the actions regarding entering the WTO is taken place. Shall we enter the Organization separately or as a single Customs Union will be decided simultaneous and in concord. – underlined the head of the government in Kazakhstan and added that he has the corresponding agreements with the president of Russia Dmitri Medvedev and the prime-minister Vladimir Putin. Hereby Russian Federation and Kazakhstan according to K. Maksimov are at the same level in regulating the question of entering WTO”.
