Business delegation from Belarus will visit Sverdlov oblast of Russia

On April, 14-17, 2009 business delegation from Belarus will visit Sverdlov oblast of Russian Federation. That was reported by the press-service of Belarusian Embassy in Russian Federation.

On April, 14-17, 2009 business delegation from Belarus will visit Sverdlov oblast of Russian Federation. That was reported by the press-service of Belarusian Embassy in Russian Federation.

It is planned that during the visit there will be negotiations and business meeting organized for Belarusian and Russian companies and organizations with the purpose to establish direct contacts. Business people of the both sides will discuss the issues of mutual cooperation, export and import of goods and services and possible foundation of joint ventures.

Recently Belarus and Serdlov oblast have made a significant move towards the cooperation development. The turnover between Belarus and Sverdlov oblast is planned to be increased up to $ 1 billion for two years. Meanwhile according to the results of the last year the increase made up 42%. The increase of the turnover will be practiced with the help of planned establishing of joint production of medicaments, medical equipment, processing of wood, furniture and other consumer products. In particular it is planned to organize assembling production of “BelAZ” machines in Sverdlov oblast.

Sverdlov oblast is the main trade and economic partner of Belarus in the Urals (Ekaterinburg is the center of the Ural federal district). The Turnover of Belarus with Sverdlov oblast in 2007 in comparison with 2006 increased by 41, 5% and reached $ 482, 6 million (the 8^th place among Russian regions) that is the highest result for the last 12 years. Belarusian export increased by 52, 8 % and made up $ 192, 5 million and import increased by 34, 9 % up to $ 290, 1 million.

In 2008 Belarus supplied Sverdlov oblast with plastic and plastic items, road building equipment, tractors, refrigerators, goods from ferrous metal, machines and equipments for harvesting and thrashing of agriculture crops and lorries. The basis for import deliveries from Sverdlov oblast make goods from ferrous metal, ferrous metals, railroad and tram wagons, steam turbines, machines and industrial and laboratorial equipment and copper and copper products.
