Tver State Technical University to cooperate with Belarusian National Technical University

The 9th International Conference on Social, economic and ecological problems in the mining, construction and energy industries took place in Minsk between 29 and 31 October. The Conference was held at the main technical university of Belarus – the Belarusian National Technical University. The Conference was attended by scientists from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Kazakhstan, Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan and other CIS and non-CIS countries.

MAZ exhibits its vehicle vehicles for Sochi

The Minsk Automobile Plant has exhibited a sample of the vehicles which it hopes will soon be on the roads in Sochi. The Sochi authorities plan to acquire 355 more new buses by the end of the year, ahead of the Olympics. There will be 127 large capacity buses while the rest will be of medium capacity. They will replace older public service vehicles. The city authorities are currently deciding on their supplier.

Belarusian-made machines are presented at seminar in the Smolensk Region

On 17 October, a seminar was held to display Belarusian agricultural equipment at the LBR Agromarket site in Olsha (Smolensk Region). The presentation included high-powered wheeled and tracked tractors with a variety of sowing and harvesting units, together with special forestry, house-building utilities and road building equipment.

Construction of the ‘Vitebsk Quarter’ starts in Smolensk

On 27 September near the village of Kiselevka (in Smolensk), the burying of a time-capsule marked the laying of the foundations of the ‘Vitebsk Quarter’ construction project. This residential district will be constructed by Belarusian experts. The project will involve the construction of 13 ten-storey buildings with a total floor area of 76,000 sq. m, with infrastructure facilities within the area of 7 ha.

Tyumen Region and Belarus to expand agricultural cooperation

Gas to the Kaliningrad underground gas storage facility to be delivered via Belarusian pipeline

Belarus bans pork imports from the Vladimir Region

Belarus has imposed a ban on the import of pork from the Vladimir Region of Russia due to the spread of African swine fever (ASF) in the region. The directive is posted on the website of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.

MAZ buses to be shipped to cities in the Moscow Region

The Minsk Automobile Plant has won a tender for the supply of 20 buses to the Mostransavto State Unitary Enterprise for Road Passenger Transport of the Moscow Region. 10 MAZ 206 buses and 10 MAZ 226 buses will soon be used in the cities of the Moscow Region.
